Film Review

We haven't done a film review lately so here it is.  Enjoy!

Firstly we watched Beauty and The Beast.  This is the one with Emma Watson and Dan Stevens.  This tells the story of a pretty young woman who falls in love with the Beast who also turns out to be a prince.

There have been lots of other versions of this fairy tale, but we thought that this is one of the best.   The special effects are absolutely brilliant and all the animated characters are really funny.  The story made some of us cry, it was so emotional but in a happy way.

We all really loved this film and would  mark it as a definate 10/10.

Have a look at the trailer below.

Next we watched Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.

This is a film linked to the Harry Potter series but set in a time before Harry was born.  It's the story of Newt Scamander who collects and protects lots of the magical creatures that roam the world.  This is about how he saves a special creature in the USA.

Its a atory about frinedship and doing what is right.  It's a very fast paced film with loads of excitement.  It is full of magic and action that never stops.

We all gave this a full 10/10.  We think it is fantastic and huge fun.  We really hope that they make some more in the same series.

Here is a trailer to watch.

Here are some trailers of films we are looking forward to seeing later in the year.

Farewell to a special friend

Last week we had to say goodbye to someone who is close to us and has helped us to make our centre a great place to be.

Mandy had been our Manager for nearly 5 years.  During that time, we have become very close friends with her.  She has worked very hard to develop the centre and make sure that it is one of the best day centres in the county.

We will all miss her a great deal.  We aslo all hope that she enjoys her new job in Shared Lives and can do as much for the people there as she has for us.

We put together a short show to say goodbye.  Heer are some pitures of that show.

Goodbye Mandy and all our best wishes.  Please come and visit us soon.

From all at Victoria Lodge.

Easter Coffee Morning

On the 5th of April we had our Easter Coffee Morning.  It was a great success and we had a lot of visitors.

We made loads of cakes and Easter bunnies.  There was a cake decorating session, arts and crafts for sale, and a raffle.

All those who attended bought lots of our stuff.  Many people wore easter bonnets for the competition.

It was a great morning.  We rasied a teriffic amount of money for the centre and everyone had a great time.

Thank you to all who contributed and those who bought products to support the centre. All together we made £182.00.
